Cry of Love only released two albums, both in the 90's, but for fans of Classic Guitar Rock these albums are essential recordings and sit comfortably alongside the work of Led Zeppelin, Free, Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Guitarist
and principal song-writer, Audley Freed, is a
spectacular guitarist whose licks and riffs echo those of Jimmy
Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix,
Brian May and Paul Kossoff.
After
the demise of Cry of Love, at the end of the
90's, Freed went on to join the Black Crowes
and found himself playing alongside the legendary Jimmy
Page for the "Live at the Greek" album.
Since then, Audley has appeared as a guest on a number of albums
and performed with artists like Joe Perry and
Alvin Youngblood-Hart. Most recently Audley is
recording with country singer Joanna Cotten for
her Warner Bros debut album. Audley can also be seen in and around
his hometown of Nashville playing in club band "Hey
Hey Hey".
You
can catch-up with what the other members of the band are up to
in the 'Band Members' section and also see more detailed information
on Audley and a break down of Audley's gear and career, with pictures.
