Group founder, along with Audley Freed and Jason Patterson, Robert
Kearns was a member of Cry of Love until their disbandment in 1997.
In 1997 Robert joined the band "The Bottle Rockets" replacing
original bassist, Tom Ray. Robert is credited as playing bass,vocals,
wurlitzer and organ.(see discography for recordings).
In 1999 the
original line-up of Cry of Love were seen together again performing at
one of Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule/Allman Bros)annual 'Xmas Jam' shows.
Robert also played these very freeform shows with The Bottle Rockets and
Chris Duarte (w/Jason Patterson)in 2000.
Robert joined Jason Patterson in the 'Chris Duarte Group' from Oct. 2000(Robert
actually relocated to Austin, Texas at this time). In 2003, Robert played
with Audley Freed in the touring band, "JoB Cain" (W/Alvin Youngblood
Hart and Ed Michaels).
In
2004
Robert toured and recording with Texas rocker Jack Ingram and continued
as a full-time member of the Bottle Rockets. He also guested with Audley
Freed on Alvin Youngblood Hart's 2005 album: "Motivational Speaker".
In
March 2005, Robert Kearns ended his eight-year tenure with
the Bottle Rockets, being replaced by bassist Keith Voegele. In 2006,
Robert began working with Texas singer, Chris Cagle and continues to do
so throughout 2007.
